Our Baby Shower
^^^ Me and my daddy. He will forever be one of my favorite people. He has the most genuine and kind soul! Also, this photo was taken before we realized my flower crown was on wrong. (haha)
^^^ The best photobomb ever!! My mom and I were taking a photo together, and little did we know that Haven decided to join us with her huge infectious smile! This instantly became the photo of the night!
^^^ My best friend Samantha. She is the nicest person you will ever meet. Always there for me with her encouraging words, and makes me a better person whenever she’s around. I couldn’t imagine life without her!
^^^ My girls! I’m so thankful for each of these ladies, and the friendships we have developed over time.
^^^ My baby sister Faith! She is an answered prayer! We are eleven years apart, but she is still my best friend. She is such a sweet, loving, and thoughtful girl who makes you want to be better. She helps me to have fun, and is forever my baking partner.
^^^ My sister Wendy! My brother married this gorgeous lady a few years ago, and little did I know that she would be one of the biggest blessings in my life! She is also my shopping partner, best friend, and one of the most encouraging people I know!
^^^ All my sisters! Wendy, Riley, and Faith. Riley is dating my youngest brother, and became my best friend within a matter of months of me knowing her. She is so thoughtful, kind, and is going to be an incredible wife and momma one day. (She makes me want to be a better wife and mom and she isn’t even married with kids yet haha!) I love these girls and truly feel honored that God thought I was deserving of sisters like them.
^^^ My community group girls! We get together every Monday, and I cannot begin to describe the way these ladies have changed my life. They have encouraged me, prayed for me consistently, and even taken care of me when I was really sick a couple months ago. They are the most beautiful people inside and out and I am so thankful I can call them my friends!
^^^ Holley, Priscilla, and Ashley. These ladies are so genuine and kind it’s insane. They have encouraged me so much in my life, and reached out to me during some of my toughest times. I love them so much!
^^^ My Grandma and I. She has been one of my closest family members pretty much since I was born. We are inseparable! She actually lives right around the corner for me so we love having coffee dates and lunch dates. She is funny, bold, generous, and so loving.
^^^ Opening gifts! Some of the ladies brought Haven gifts too, which I thought was SO sweet and thoughtful. It made her feel special since prior to that she didn’t understand why I wasn’t giving her all the gifts to play with. (haha)
^^^ The sweetest moment of the night was when both my Grandma’s prayed over my son, and our family. I’m so blessed to have a family who loves the Lord, and sees the value of knowing Christ!
Baby Krabill’s Shower
Last Saturday on September 10, we celebrated our little boy with close friends and family. We went for a more intimate setting, and really wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the company of everyone who has been so supportive of our growing family. My mom was kind enough to host the shower, and did such an incredible job. I didn’t feel stressed, or anxious throughout the process, and to me that’s a clear sign that the host is doing a great job! (I love you mom!!)
I had an idea in my head of what I wanted this baby shower to look like since before I even knew the gender. I loved the thought of white florals with greenery, combined with a more subtle accent color. Since we are having a boy, I went ahead and chose a soft grey to accent the white. (No baby blue after all!) Planning a party for a boy was so much more difficult for me. As you know, I’m obsessed with the color blush. And it’s pretty obvious that’s not an option for a baby boy shower! We also don’t have a nursery theme yet, so I didn’t have specific colors in mind for him immediately. Thankfully we live in a world where Pinterest exists! That’s where all my ideas ended up coming from.
September is the hottest month of the year typically, so my mom suggested we have a later start time to avoid baking in the sun. We decided on a 6 PM dinner, followed by dessert. The tables had leaf garland running down the center, with white roses and ranunculus throughout it. Since we knew the sun would set during the shower, we had candles lined up across the tables as well to give it a pretty glow.
I’m big on taking photos and capturing moments, so I thought it would be fun to have a photo backdrop for everyone to use. My husband, Tanner, was sweet enough to build me the one I liked from Pinterest, and our amazing florist filled it with tons of greenery and florals.
We had Vince’s Spaghetti cater our meal, and it was delicious! If you live around Temecula, you need to try this restaurant. For dessert, I wanted something lighter, but still sweet. We decided on a vanilla naked cake from Baked Dessert Bar and oh.my.goodness, it was incredible! It was one of those desserts you crave even after it’s gone! In fact I wish I could have a slice right now.
Once we were finished eating, we opened gifts. As I started seeing all the baby boy clothes, and baby gear pile up around me, it hit me that I’m going to have a son soon. It’s not that I wasn’t aware prior to that, but we hadn’t done too much shopping before the shower, so I wasn’t constantly surrounded by traces of baby boy things! (Just lots of pink from my Haven love).
My favorite moment of the night was when both my grandma’s came and prayed over our baby, and our family. There’s something about having the older generation come alongside the younger generation that is so beautiful. Seeing their love for this child, and feeling their support is such a blessing.
It was a gorgeous night filled with so much love and laughter. I am now in nesting mode as I prepare for this boy who I think will be early. Reality is only God knows his birthday, but I figure he is running out of room and will want to make his debut sooner than later. I was so close to having my due date changed last week, but he was just shy of the cut off for being “too big.” I still think it’s funny how I’m carrying such a big baby! Haven was barely seven pounds when she was born, and after my formal ultrasound, he is estimated to be at least six already. His cheeks are so chubby! Even the doctor was laughing.
We cannot thank our family and friends enough for all the support that has been shown to us. It’s such a sweet feeling to know that our children will grow up surrounded by people who love them unconditionally.
Also, a big thanks to my mom who put this shower together for me. I love you more than words could ever express! Thank you for selflessly planning, and making this day so beautiful!
*I listed everything we used for the shower, along with mine and Haven’s outfit details below.*
Thank you so much for stopping by, and for constantly encouraging me with kind messages and comments on Instagram.
